The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team returned to action for the first time since their perfect spring trip and they did not disappoint as they extended the region's longest win streak to 12 games following a two-game sweep against Jefferson on Thursday afternoon in Watertown, NY.

GAME ONE: Hudson Valley 10, Jefferson 0 (Final – 5 Innings)

The Vikings did not waste any time in the first game of the day as they scored early and often as they completed a 10-run rule victory on the host Cannoneers. The Vikings accumulated 10 hits and kept the pressure on Jefferson as they also tallied 11 stolen bases.

Jeremy Taggart continues to rip the ball as he was one of two Vikings to record at least two hits in the game. Taggart entered the game hitting .438 and he finished the game hitting 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Brendan Connolly also added two hits, going 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI.

On the mound, Hunter Stolov earned his third win of the season as he tossed a complete game, shutout with five hits, six strikeouts and one walk over the five innings. Stolov faced 20 batters and threw only 67 pitches.

GAME TWO: Hudson Valley 2, Jefferson 1 (Final)

In the final game of the day, the Vikings battled through a pitching duel and managed to secure the win thanks to a two-run fourth inning. The Vikings outhit Jefferson 7-4 and neither program recorded an error.

In the fourth inning, Hudson Valley's Connor Waiting sat on a first-pitch fastball and sent a big fly over the left field fence for a two-run home run, scoring Connolly. Connolly reached base on a single to left field.

Andrew Wilson earned the start and tossed five full innings, giving up one run on four hits with eight strikeouts and three walks. Wilson's quality performance earned him his third win of the season. Cole Flannery entered the game in the sixth inning and completed the six-out save, his first save of the season. Flannery did not give up a hit and struck out three batters.
