The Hudson Valley Community College baseball program continued on its winning ways as they defeated Dutchess 10-4 in a 9-inning game on Tuesday afternoon at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on the campus of HVCC.

The Vikings improved to 9-9 on the season after winning six of their last seven games and are back at .500 for the first time since the start of the season. It didn't take Hudson Valley long to get on the board as they out up four runs in the bottom of the second inning, which helped the Vikings keep momentum for the remainder of the game.

The four run second inning was kicked off by three walks to the first four Viking batters in the inning. The big hit came from Tj Strevell, who doubled on a line drive to centerfield, which allowed Anthony Rizzo and Brayden Mann to score on the hit. Strevell managed to score on the play too as a result of an error.

As a team, the offense racked up 10 hits in the game and were led by Josh Foglia and Mann, who both collected three hits to lead the Vikings to victory.

On the mound, Jayden Hughes earned the start and the win as he allowed one run on three hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Hughes struck out three and walked one as he secured his first win of the season.
