The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (20-7) won their fifth straight game after sweeping Mohawk Valley on the road on Tuesday afternoon in Utica, NY. 

Game One: Hudson Valley 8, Mohawk Valley 2

The Vikings took the first game of the doubleheader which was highlighted by consistent hitting and better pitching by sophomore James Rubino. Rubino tossed a complete game and allowed two runs, one earned on four hits with six strikeouts and three walks. 

As a team, Hudson Valley combined for 12 hits for eight runs with eight RBI. Chris Kordziel started the scoring in the second inning with a 2-RBI double to score Anthony Raimo and Nick Hansen. Krodziel finished with three hits, three RBI and scored once. 

Raimo also collected three hits, including a 2-run home run in the seventh inning and scored three runs. Matt Dagostino recorded two hits and an RBI in the fifth inning. 

Game Two: Hudson Valley 19, Mohawk Valley 4

In the second game, the Vikings offense exploded for 14 runs in the fifth inning to close out the Hawks in five innings to complete the season sweep.  Hudson Valley collected a season-high 19 hits, 19 runs and 19 RBI in 35 at-bats. 

In the fifth inning, the Vikings batted through the lineup twice and collected 13 hits, with only one extra-base hit, a 3-RBI triple by Jackson Wenstrom. The other 12 hits in the inning were all single base hits. Wenstrom finished with three hits and drove in four runs. 

Tim Cramer earned the win for the Vikings after pitching four innings and gave up three runs on four hits with three strikeouts.Payton Kurzejeski closed out the final inning with two strikeouts, while allowing one run on two hits. 

Krodziel continued to hit the ball very well for Hudson Valley as he finished game two with another three-hit game. Chris also scored three runs and collected two RBI. Dagostino finished the game with a game-high five RBIs with three hits and two runs scored. 

Hudson Valley will travel to play Adirondack this Saturday, April 27 for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
