The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (22-6) defeated Fulton-Montgomery Community College (7-18) 11-5 and 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Brennan Strovink (Rocky Point/Rocky Point) and Brandon Cellucci (Averill Park/Troy) led the Vikings in game one with two hits and two RBIs each. Zachary DeThomasis (CBA Albany/Rensselaer) and Joseph Zabbara (Rocky Point/Miller Place) each added two RBIs, and Sam Spadafore (Cicero-North Syracuse/Syracuse) received the win on the mound, throwing three strong innings and allowing only two runs.
Clayton Leisenfelder (Colonie/Albany) pitched the Vikings to a 2-1 win in game two, throwing a complete game on five strikeouts and only one run. Brady Fallon (CBA Albany/Clifton Park) recorded both of Hudson Valley's RBIs, and DeThomasis, Strovink, Cellucci and Jeff Bink (Colonie/Colonie) each added two hits in the win.
The Vikings host Fulton-Montgomery tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
