The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (15-3) defeated Columbia-Greene Community College (3-13) 13-3 and 16-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Caleb Gregg (Chatham/Chatham) earned the six inning complete game win in game one, recording eight strikeouts and allowing no earned runs. Zachary DeThomasis (CBA Albany/Rensselaer) led the team going 4-5 with three RBIs, and Connor McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh) added two doubles and an RBI. Brandon Cellucci (Averill Park/Troy) and Brady Fallon (CBA Albany/Clifton Park) each recorded two hits combining for five RBIs, and Ben Julian (Troy/Wynantskill) added two RBIs in the win.
The Vikings completely dominated the Twins in game two, led behind four strong innings from Nicolas Teitter (Saugerties/Saugerties) who recorded eight strikeouts. DeThomasis, Joseph Zabbara (Rocky Point/Miller Place), and Garrett Klahr (Shaker/Latham) each added two hits and two RBIs, and Dustin Conte (Hudson/Hudson) chipped in three RBIs in the rout.
The Vikings host Columbia-Greene tomorrow for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
