The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (13-3) defeated Clinton Community College (0-16) on Thursday afternoon. The Vikings won game one 7-3 and then took game two 17-0.
Mike Yamin (Troy/Troy) earned the win on the mound in game one for the Vikings. Jeff Bink (Colonie/Colonie) led the Vikings with a three-run homerun, and Liam Kelly (Catholic Central/Clifton Park) added two doubles and an RBI in the win.
In game two, Tim Hughes (Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk/Ravena) and Ryan Keefe (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) combined for a no-hitter over five innings in the rout of Clinton. Kyle McAlonie (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) and Kyle Hall (Maple Hill/Castleton) led the Vikings with a pair of three-run homeruns each.
The Vikings travel to Herkimer to take on the No. 1 ranked Generals on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
