The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (19-15) lost to Herkimer County Community College (31-7), 10-7 and 12-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
Eric Mueller (Bethlehem/Glenmont) and Bradley Adams (Catholic Central/Troy) led the Vikings in game one, each recording two hits and a double. Brett Fenton (Catholic Central/Troy) added two hits, and Zach Steimer (N/A/Ballston Spa) chipped in a hit and two RBIs in the loss.
Fenton added another two hits in game two, but it wasn't enough to overcome an early deficit to the #7 ranked Generals. Mike Sunkes (Catholic Central/Waterford) went 2-3 at the plate and Adams tacked on an RBI.
The baseball team wraps up the regular season when they travel to Jefferson on Thursday afternoon for a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
