The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (12-10) split with Clinton Community College (2-8) on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings lost game one, 2-1, but took game two, 7-3.
Charles Parslow (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda) pitched a complete game, allowing only two runs, none of which were earned, but the offense failed to produce. Eric Mueller (Bethlehem/Glenmont) led the Vikings with three hits, and Anthony Scaccia (Voorheesville/Voorheesville) recorded Hudson Valley's only RBI in the game.
Scaccia came back and pitched six innings, allowing no earned runs to earn the win in game two. Joseph Bender (Guilderland/Guilderland) led the Vikings with two hits and two RBIs, and Cameron Bow (Mt. Anthony Union/Shaftsbury, VT) also recorded two RBIs. Brett Fenton (Catholic Central/Troy) went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, and Mueller added another two hits in the victory.
The baseball team hosts Adirondack on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
