The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (19-16) lost to #1 seed Erie Community College (37-18) in Sub Regionals on Saturday afternoon, 7-3 and 13-3.
The Vikings struck first in the second when Brett Fenton (Catholic Central/Troy) drove in Bradley Adams (Catholic Central/Troy) to take a 1-0 lead. Erie came back in the fifth to go up 3-1, but Adams hit a solo home run to pull the Vikings within one. The Kats would add four more runs to earn the 7-3 game one victory. Adams led the team with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Charles Parslow (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda) and Mike Sunkes (Catholic Central/Waterford) each added two hits in the loss.
In game two, the Vikings took an early 1-0 lead in the first, but Erie answered back with two of their own. The Kats would blow the game open in the fifth with nine runs to end the game. Parslow gave up two earned runs through four innings to earn his first loss of the season, finishing 7-1 in his freshman campaign.
