The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (11-8) dropped a 13-5 decision against RPI junior varsity on Wednesday, April 7. The loss ended a four-game Viking winning streak that began with a doubleheader sweep of Jefferson County Community College on April 3 and continued with defeats against Adirondack Community College in two contests on April 6, 15-2 and 15-2.
In the victories against the Timberwolves of Adirondack, Bobby Peluso (Columbia, East Greenbush) was three-for-three with two RBIs in game one. Shawn Callahan (Niskayuna, Niskayuna) hit a three-run homerun and Drew Doty (Chatham, Chatham) went two-for-two with a homerun in the victory.
In the defeat against RPI , the Vikings loaded the bases in the first inning with no outs, only to come away with nothing. From that point on, it was all Engineers as they took a commanding 11-0 lead and never looked back. The Vikings made a late flurry.
The Vikings will host Adirondack County Community College at "The Joe" Thursday, April 8 for two games. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
