The Hudson Valley Community College (20-15/11-4 Region III) baseball team recorded a 9-4 win over Morrisville State College (12-21/10-14 Region III) earlier tonight in Troy.
Sophomore Tom Zink (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) was two-for-five with a double, triple and two RBI to lead Hudson Valley at the plate. In the process, Zink moved into second place on the college's all-time hit list with 107 career hits. He surpassed Joel Molina, who had 106 hits from 2004 to 2005.
Sophomore pitcher Nate Novak (Hudson/Hudson High School) only allowed three hits in five innings of work to improve his record to 7-1 on the season. He struck out five and walked one.
Freshman Brett Weber (East Schodack/Columbia High School) was two-for-three with a home run and two RBI for the Vikings. Freshman Andrew Brickwedel (Troy/Catholic Central High School) also had two hits.
