The Hudson Valley Community College won its 34th game of the season - a school record - with a 10-0 win at Schenectady County Community College.
Hudson Valley, which has won 19 of its last 20 games, is 34-8 on the season. The 2001 team that finished 33-10 and advanced to the NJCAA Division III World Series set the previous record for wins.
Sophomore Bill Kelts (Waterford/Christian Brother's Academy) finished with two home runs, a double and four RBI to lead the Hudson Valley attack. Sophomore Steve Sayre (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) had three hits, including a double and a two-run home run.
Freshman pitcher Nate Jones (Horseheads/Horseheads High School) pitched his fourth consecutive shutout. He allowed one hit and struck out three. Jones has not allowed a run in 26 consecutive innings.
