Freshman Paul Terry (Waterford/Catholic Central High School) drove in five runs for the second straight game to lead the Hudson Valley Community College baseball team to a 9-5 win over Schenectady County Community College at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Hudson Valley improves to 19-15 on the year. Schenectady, ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, drops to 21-4.
Freshman pitcher Justin Maloney (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) went the distance for Hudson Valley, allowing three earned runs on eight hits. He fanned eight.
Hudson Valley pounded out 15 hits in the contest. Sophomore Ryan Ratigan (Wynantskill/Averill Park High School) was three-for-five with an RBI. Along with Terry, Hudson Valley got two hits apiece from freshman Bill Kelts (Waterford/Christian Brother's Academy), freshman Ryan Gijon-Owen (Puebla, Mexico/Bowie High School), sophomore Matt Nobles (Rensselaer/Bishop Maginn High School) and freshman Jonathan Callahan (Schenectady/Schenectady High School).
