Mr. Versatility, Bobby Krogh of Troy, was recently honored as the Most Valuable Player of Hudson Valley Community College's baseball team.
Krogh, a freshman lefthander who pitches and plays first base for the Vikings, led Hudson Valley to its first NJCAA Division III Region III title in 19 years. On May 13, in the Region III title game, he tossed a complete game against Columbia-Greene Community College, recording eight strikeouts, allowing no earned runs, and helping the Vikings score a 7-4 victory.
Prior to the NJCAA Division III World Series, which Hudson Valley is currently competing in, Krogh posted a 6-1 record with three saves. He posted a stingy 2.02 ERA and struck out 61 batters in 49 innings pitched. Additionally, Krogh batted .374 with six doubles, eight triples and a team-high four home runs. He also led the Vikings with 46 hits and 46 RBI. He came to Hudson Valley from Troy High School.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
