Hudson Valley Community College's Nick Borgia of Scotia was recently selected as a Second Team All-Region III pitcher.
Borgia has a 6-1 record with one save. On May 19, the sophomore right-hander won the opening game of the NJCAA Division III World Series, which Hudson Valley is currently competing in. Borgia tossed a complete game against Quinsigamond Community College of Massachusetts, picking up five strikeouts and leading the Vikings to an 8-4 win - Hudson Valley's first World Series victory in 19 years.
Borgia has recorded 55 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched this year. He sports a 2.15 ERA. As a freshman, he was 3-1 with 40 strikeouts and a 1.55 ERA. Borgia came to Hudson Valley from Scotia-Glenville High School.
