Daniel Hytko has contributed to Hudson Valley athletics as a student-athlete, coach and administrator. Hytko played basketball and tennis at Hudson Valley before graduating in 1971. A two-year starter on the basketball team, Hytko ranked second in the nation in free throw percentage and garnered Second Team All-Region honors his second year. As the men’s basketball coach, Hytko posted a record of 135-70 from 1981 to 1988. He guided the Vikings to four Mountain Valley Conference championships. As the tennis coach, Hytko led Hudson Valley to two conference titles in four years. He also served as the assistant athletic director from 1977 to 1987.
