The Hudson Valley Community College Athletics Department hosted its annual Fall Sports Banquet this Tuesday, celebrating a record-setting semester highlighted by championships, postseason success, and academic excellence. Every fall program advanced to NJCAA Region 3 postseason play, marking one of the most successful seasons in Viking history.
The men's soccer team, led by first-year head coach Matt Snow, turned in an impressive season of growth and offensive improvement. The Vikings scored 48 goals in 15 games—a 19-goal increase from last season—and advanced to the NJCAA Region 3 Quarterfinals. Sophomore leaders Camryn Curet and Joseph Davis powered the attack, while goalkeeper Juan Rivas anchored the defense. Curet earned All-Conference First Team and All-Region Second Team honors, while Davis was named to the All-Conference Second Team. At the banquet, Eli Charlebois earned the Academic Award, Michael Robyck received the Coaches Award, and Cole DiNuzzo was named Team MVP.
Under head coach Kurtis Smith, the women's soccer team delivered one of its strongest seasons in recent years, finishing 7-5-1 and earning the No. 6 seed in the NJCAA Region 3 Tournament. The Vikings' potent offense produced 46 goals in 13 games, more than doubling their scoring output from the previous year. Alessia Salierno led the team with 11 goals and 25 points, while Hogan and Olivia Kay provided key contributions on both ends of the field. Salierno earned All-Region and All-Conference First Team honors, joined by VanDyke, Hogan, and Naylor in postseason recognition. At the banquet, Natalie Hastie received the Academic Award, Anna Nichols earned the Coaches Award, and Katie Gross was named Team MVP.
The men's and women's cross country programs, led by head coach Peter Wagner, continued their tradition of excellence with another championship season. The women's team captured both the NJCAA Region 3 and Mountain Valley Conference Championships—its fifth regional crown and first since 2022—while the men's team finished Region 3 Runner-Up and earned the MVC title. Individually, Brianna Doria won both the Region 3 and MVC Championships, while Athena Seebald finished runner-up in both races. Alan Arnold led the men's side with a Region 3 Runner-Up finish and MVC Individual Championship. Numerous Vikings earned All-Region and All-Conference honors for their outstanding performances. Banquet award winners included Rebecca Church (Academic), Paulina Ostrander (Coaches), and Brianna Doria (MVP) for the women, along with Landon Horlacher (Academic), Michael Kleinman (Coaches), and Alan Arnold (MVP) for the men.
The women's volleyball team, under head coach Therese DeCan, produced the best season in program history—finishing a perfect 25-0, capturing the program's first-ever NJCAA Region 3 Championship, and earning its first conference title since 1995. The Vikings' dominant run earned them the No. 1 seed in the Region 3 Tournament and an automatic berth to Nationals. Setter Gabriella Kholstinin broke both the single-season and career assists records, while leading the team alongside a talented and cohesive roster. Kholstinin was named All-Region First Team, All-Conference Player of the Year, and All-Tournament, while Emily Coffey earned Region 3 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Region Third Team honors. Jocelyn Caputo was named Tournament MVP and All-Region First Team, joined by several other Vikings on All-Conference and All-MVC teams. At the banquet, Emily Coffey received the Academic Award, Brooke Poutre earned the Coaches Award, and Gabriella Kholstinin was named Team MVP.
The 2025 Fall Sports Banquet capped a historic semester for Hudson Valley Athletics—one defined by teamwork, record-breaking performances, and academic success.
