Ferrari and Dunlavey Awarded January Athlete of the Month

The Hudson Valley Community College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the recipients of the Vikings Student-Athlete of the Month award. The January 2025 honorees are Abigale Dunlavey (Women's Track & Field) and Frank Ferrari (Men's Bowling).
Frank Ferrari a sophomore for the men's bowling program, has proven to be a key player for the Vikings finishing within the top 5 in the last 5 tournaments. The Ballston Lake native has competed in every match of the season so far in this 24/25 season. Ferrari looks to be a standout, leading the Vikings into the postseason. Ferrari is on track to graduate in May with a degree in Physical Education.
Abigale Dunlavey, a Rensselaer native, is in her sophomore year at Hudson Valley. Dunlavey, a jumper for the Vikings, has asserted herself as a standout athlete in just their first meet of the season. Abigale placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.16 meters, competing a the Reggie Lewis Open in the Vikings first event of the year. Her distance nearly meets the qualifying standard (9.20m) for the NJCAA Division III Championships. Dunlavey is a Liberal Arts & Sciences: Humanities & Social Sciences major and excells in the classroom and on the track.
The Vikings Student-Athlete of the Month award is presented nine times annually (September through May) to recognize student-athletes for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.
