Soccer Teams Receive All-Region Honors

The NJCAA Region 3 announced its 2022 All-Region soccer teams this afternoon as voted on by the Region 3 coaches with five members of the Vikings men's and women's soccer programs being recognized as third team recipients.
Maggie Ryan was named to the women's soccer All-Region Third Team following a successful season. Ryan led the Vikings with 16 goals and added three assists for 35 total points. She finished with a shot percentage of .457 and a shot on goal percentage of .571, which included three game-winning goals.
She had career games in critical Region 3 matchups as she scored four goals and totaled nine points in the Vikings 8-3 win at Niagara. She scored four goals once again in the Vikings 5-1 home win vs Jamestown.
The men's program had four individuals, Anthony Rouse, Ty Plumley, Cristo Trujillo and Phenyo Ward, named to the All-Region Third Team, following a year when the team finished with a 9-6-3 record, the best record since they finished 8-6 in 2018.
Anthony Rouse finished the year as the team's leading scorer with nine goals and four assists for a team-best 22 points. Plumley, one of the team's best defenders, was also named to the All-Region Third-Team. Plumley added two goals and two assists.
Trujillo, another prime defender for the men's program, was listed as a Third-Team recipient. Trujillo guided the Vikings defense and took the primary defender role against opponent's top-tiered strikers.
Ward finished the year as the team's second leading scorer as he finished with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. Ward had a .375 shots-on-goal percentage and the Vikings finished with a 5-1-1 record when he scored at least one goal or an assist.
