Capital Region Veterans & First Responders Invited to Free BBQ at HVCC Football Game
Hudson Valley Community College's Department of Athletics and Veteran Resource and Outreach Center (VETROC) will host the 4th Annual Military & First Responders Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 10, 2022 during the Viking football team's home game against Nassau Community College.
A Veteran & First Responder Appreciation Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. will be held for all active military personnel, veterans, first responders and their families prior to the start of the game. The luncheon BBQ, catered by Signal 30 BBQ, will take place under the Joe Bruno Stadium Pavilion, located adjacent to the Outdoor Athletic Complex and the football field.
During halftime, the Athletics Department will honor all Veterans and first responders in attendance and present the Vikings Military Appreciation Award to the Hicks Family and the Hicksstrong Family Foundation, based in Clifton Park, NY. The goal of the Hicksstrong Family Foundation is to connect services members with therapists via telehealth so they can truly receive confidential support no matter where they are.
