Jackson Wenstrom

Hometown:  Mandan, ND

Wenstrom guided the Vikings to a 4-0 start in Region III action with doubleheader sweeps of Mohawk Valley and Columbia-Greene last week. Jackson continued his hot start to the season this week with a .778 batting average (7-for-9), eight runs scored, a double, a triple, two home runs, nine RBIs and zero strikeouts. Wenstrom is slugged 1.778 this week, highlighted by a grand slam he hit out of Joe Bruno Stadium and onto the softball field fence in deep right center. Defensively, Wenstrom posted a perfect fielding percentage with 10 putouts.

 

Aaron ThorpeThorpe - Region 3 POW

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown:  Malta, NY

Thorpe had a huge week as the Vikings went 2-0, defeating Mohawk Valley CC 26-1 and Brookdale CC 18-4. Aaron finished the week with 23 points on 14 goals and nine assists while posting a 78.3 SOG%.  He put up new career highs with 10 goals, seven assists and 17 points against MVCC and followed up with four goals and a pair of assists against Brookdale as the Vikings extended its win streak to four straight games.

 

 

Devin KippDevin Kipp - Region 3 POW

Sport:  Track and Field

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown:  Hudson, NY

Kipp competed at the Bronco Classic this week competing in both field track events. Devin's day started when he teamed with Brandon Clancy, Christian Otorubio, and Noah Vice in the 400m Relay. The relay time of 44.69 was good for second place overall and qualified the quartet for the NJCAA National Meet eclipsing the standard by a half second. Minutes after Kipp finished the relay he competed in the shot put, where he threw a new best of 13.07m, another national qualifier, good for fifth. Kipp's third event of the day, the 100m, earned him another chance to compete at nationals finishing with a time of 11.33, another for fifth place finish.
