The Hudson Valley women’s soccer team (5-0) broke into the NJCAA Top-10 weekly national poll as announced by the governing office on Tuesday afternoon.

Following an undefeated 3-0 week, the Vikings placed 10thin today’s latest version of the women’s soccer poll. Last week, the Vikings were listed just outside of the top-10 and receiving votes.

The Vikings have eight student-athletes with at least two goals or more and have accumulated 36 goals and 25 assists in their five games this season. Sophomore Sydnee Metzold (Rotterdam/Schalmont) currently leads the nation with 13 goals and is second in the nation with 32 points. She is joined by Kristen Bikowicz (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) and Brooke Clough (Latham/Shaker) as the only Vikings to record double-digit points. Bikowicz is third in the nation with nine assists and Clough has a pair of hat tricks for her six goals this season.

The Vikings are back home tomorrow, September 12 at 2 p.m. to play Adirondack.
