Complete Rankings

Following the program's best start since 2008-09, the Hudson Valley's men's basketball team (9-1) jumped into the first NJCAA national poll of the season as announced by the governing office on Tuesday afternoon.

The No. 5 Vikings exceeded early expectations as the team features only two returners from a season ago, Caleb Canty(Hudson/Hudson) and Brandon Degrasse(Bronx/E.A. Reynolds Westside). Canty is currently averaging 17.8 points per game and is shooting 40.7 percent from behind the arc.

Joining Canty are newcomers Jordan Gleason(Wynantskill/Watervliet) and O'nandi Brooks(Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) as the trio leads the Vikings high-octane offense that averages 91.8 points per game. Gleason leads the team with 20.1 points per game and is grabbing 8.2 rebounds per game. Brooks is averaging 18.9 points per game and is leading the team with 10.2 rebounds per game.

Hudson Valley started the season 8-0 which included a 30-point road win at preseason No. 4 ranked Herkimer. The Generals are currently ranked No. 3 in the most recent national rankings released today. Mohawk Valley is the third NJCAA Region 3 member to appear inside the NJCAA top-10 as they are currently ranked No. 6, one spot behind the Vikings.

The men's program is back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, December 5 when they welcome Onondaga to the McDonough Sports Complex for a 7:30 p.m. start.
