Men's Basketball Avenges Last Week's Loss to North Country

Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (11-15) snapped their losing streak as the Vikings avenged their loss to North Country by defeating the Saints 86-78 on the road on Monday evening in Saranac Lake, N.Y.

Dave Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) had the hot hand for the Vikings on Monday evening as he finished with a team-high 24 points and shot 8-for-17 from the floor. Reo is now averaging 18.1 points per game in the month of February.

Sean Degraffenreid (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) finished one rebound shy of his first collegiate double-double. Degraffenreid scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 23 minutes of play. Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds) also scored 14 points and added seven rebounds and four assists.

Lennox Degrasse (Bronx/Manhattan Comprehensive) was a defensive stopper for the Vikings tonight. Degrasse drew five offensive charging calls on North Country and has now collected 22 charging calls on his opponents in the last eight games. Lennox finished with 11 points and four rebounds.

The men's basketball team is back home for their season finale this Wednesday, Feb. 21 as they welcome Fulton-Montgomery to the McDonough Sports Complex at 7 p.m.
