The Hudson Valley Community College football team (3-5) lost to Navy Prep (7-2) 26-14 on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings scored with 12 seconds left in the second quarter off a 22-yard pass from Chris Wolcott (Albany/Albany) to Cortez Watson (Forest Park/Woodbridge, VA) to cut Navy Prep's lead to 12-7 going into the half. Wolcott connected on another 22-yard strike to Malik Johnson (Central/Springfield, MA) to make it 19-14 in the fourth quarter. After the Vikings forced Navy Prep to punt, Hudson Valley fumbled the punt and they were able to score two plays later to close the game with a 26-14 victory.
Defensively, Joshua Lutz (Avon/Avon) led the team with 9 tackles and a fumble recovery, and Anthony Pratt (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) recorded two sacks on the day.
The football team closes the season with a 5 p.m. game at home next Saturday against Nassau.
