Former Hudson Valley Community College standout Darnell Stapleton will be the starting right guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they face the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 2.
Stapleton started at center and tackle for two seasons at Hudson Valley Community College, when they captured the conference and Region III Championship in 2004. He finished his career at Hudson Valley Community College as the only player in history to start 21 consecutive games and anchored an offense that averaged 280.3 yards per game, including 169.7 rushing yards per game.
After concluding his academic and athletic career at Hudson Valley Community College, Stapleton went on to play at Division I Rutgers where he was the starting center in 25 games over his career and a finalist for the Rimington Trophy.
