The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (22-12) defeated Jefferson Community college (14-15) on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings won game one, 6-2 and won game two, 9-4.
The Vikings took an early four-run lead after the first two innings of game one and never looked back, holding the Cannoneers to only one run in the last inning.
Danny Coleman (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) led the Vikings going 3-4 at the plate with, a double, a triple and five RBIs. Nicolas Teitter (CBA Albany/Green Island) recorded the sixth RBI in game one, scoring Coleman for his 27th run of the season.
The Vikings dominated in similar fashion in the second game, taking a 5-0 lead in the first four innings. Both teams finished the game with two runs in the fifth, one run in the sixth and one run in the seventh.
Brandon Cellucci (Averill Park/Troy) led Hudson Valley going 3-3 at the plate, with two doubles, two runs, and a stolen base. Alex Koshgarian (CBA/Colonie) recorded two hits and two runs in the victory.
The men wait for the seeding results for the sub-regional game, to be played Saturday.
