The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (6-12) defeated Clinton Community College (0-8) 10-0 and 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Dennis Buckley (Christian Brothers Academy/Colonie) pitched a no-hitter, recording ten strikeouts in six innings of work. Kyle Kelly (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) was the last Viking to toss a no-hitter back in 2010. Alex Lushkevich (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) and Michael Brienza (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Ballston Lake) each recorded two hits, producing three total RBIs and three runs scored. In game two, Bryan Martel (Milford/Milford, NH) picked up his first collegiate win throwing a complete game, three-hit shutout. Joe Amorosi (Schalmont/Rotterdam) led the team with two doubles, an RBI and one run scored.
The team travels to Schenectady County Community College on Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p.m.
