The Hudson Valley Community College (1-5) baseball team split a double-header against Rappahannock Community College (4-13) on Sunday, March 20. The Vikings fell 8-6 in the first game, but fought back in the second, winning 10-9 in eight innings. This was the team's first action in Myrtle Beach, SC for a series of games throughout the week.
Game one ended in dramatic fashion as Rappahannock won on a walk-off homerun. Tyler Young (Shaker/Latham) led the Vikings, going 3-3 with two RBIs. In game two, Luke Burns (Delaware Academy/Bovina) went 3-5 with a homerun and four RBIs, pacing the way for the Vikings first win of the season. Tyler Young went 2-5 with an RBI and Joe Amorosi (Schalmont/Rotterdam) went 1-3 with two RBIs.
The Vikings' next game is a double-header against Methodist on Monday, March 21 beginning at 2 p.m.
