Four Hudson Valley Community College baseball players received postseason accolades after the team captured its third Mountain Valley Conference title in the last four years in 2007.
Sophomore pitcher Nate Novak (Hudson/Hudson High School) was named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Region III selection after recording an 8-1 record with a 3.00 earned run average. He also hit .365 with three home runs and a team-best 42 RBI.
Freshman second baseman Scott Robinson (Schenectady/Mohonasen High School) also was a First Team All-Region and All-Conference selection. Robinson hit .360 with a team-best five home runs and 28 RBI.
Sophomore shortstop Andrew Brickwedel (Ballston Lake/Catholic Central High School) was a Second Team All-Region and All-Conference selection after batting .374 with 26 RBI. In 126 chances at shortstop this season, Brickwedel committed just five errors.
Sophomore catcher Nick Barbera (Niskayuna/Niskayuna High School) was an All-Conference selection. He hit .303 with a home run and 24 RBI.
Hudson Valley finished the 2007 campaign with a 26-16 record and advanced to the Region III final four for the 10th time in the last 11 years.
