Hudson Valley Community College and Schenectady County Community College will play a quarterfinal baseball game in the NJCAA Division III Region III tournament at Schenectady tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
The Vikings of Hudson Valley sport a 28-12 record and are ranked sixth in the eight-team tournament. The Royals of Schenectady are ranked third and have a 25-8 record. The teams, who split a pair of regular season meetings, are both ranked among the top 20 in this year's final NJCAA Division III poll.
The winner of tomorrow's game advances to a semifinal contest, to be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Utica's Donovan Stadium.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
