Volleyball Streak Extended to Three; Defeats Ulster

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball team closed out the 2023 regular season with a 3-1, (26-28, 25-14, 25-22, 25-11) road win at Ulster in Stone Ridge, NY on Thursday evening.

Volleyball improved to 12-10 overall and have won six of their last eight games as they build momentum heading into the Mountain Valley Conference championships on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Fulton-Montgomery.

In the win over Ulster, Abby Taylor led the offensive attack with 16 kills in 34 attack attempts and Abbigail Newell finished with 11 kills in 32 attempts. Newell also played a big role on the defensive end as she tallied 25 total digs in the four-set match.

Adriana Diaz Rolon did not make a receiving error in 23 attempts and finished with a team-high 38 digs. Elizabeth Baldes continued to play well over the eight-game span as she accumulated 29 digs and added two service aces in the win.

Regina Ware-Salazar showed off her versatility as she tallied 30 assists, two kills, 10 digs and a pair of service aces.

The Vikings will take its three-game win streak to the Mountain Valley Conference championships on Saturday, Oct. 21 as they take on Adirondack at 10 a.m. at Fulton-Montgomery in Johnstown, NY.
