Volleyball takes Two Wins at Mohawk Valley Pod

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball program closed out the Region 3 scheduled with a critical 2-1 record at the Mohawk Valley pod on Saturday in Utica, NY. 

Fulton-Montgomery 3, Hudson Valley 0 

The Vikings ran into a very tough Fulton-Montgomery program and were defeated in straight sets. Kendra Skervin and Alyssa Bruno led the team with three blocks each. Skyler Kennedy finished with a team-best 10 assists and added one dig and one service ace. 

Hudson Valley 3, Herkimer 2

The Vikings were pushed to the brink against the Generals as they were forced to a pivotal fifth set. They dropped the fourth set 25-22, but recovered in the final set to win 15-11. Tatianah Zeigler and Bruno tallied seven kills each and Kennedy added 24 total assists in the five-set match. 

The Vikings served well during the match as they combined for 22 service aces, the most in a single match this season. Adrianna Diaz-Rolon finished with a team-best six services aces and a team-best 15 digs to lead the Vikings on the defensive end. 

Hudson Valley 3, Mohawk Valley 0

The Vikings took care of business as they defeated Mohawk Valley in straight sets. Bruno had a big attack match as she finished with a team-high eight kills. Diaz-Rolon added a team-best 11 digs with four service aces. Zeigler posted a team-high six services aces as the team finished with 18 total aces. Kennedy paced the offense with 20 total assists. 

Hudson Valley volleyball is expected to qualify for the Mountain Valley Conference tournament, which is set to be held on Saturday, October 22 at Fulton-Montgomery.
