Volleyball Plays Well at Adirondack Pod, Finished 1-2

The Hudson Valley women's volleyball program has continued to put pressure on its opponents and have been in position to win more matches, despite the 1-2 record on Saturday at the Adirondack pod. The Vikings defeated Cayuga in straight sets, had a tough four-set loss to Onondaga and was defeated 3-0 by the Region's top ranked program, Jefferson. 

Hudson Valley 3, Cayuga 0

The Vikings continued their strong play as they earned their fourth win in the last five matches after they defeated Cayuga 3-0 in the opening match of the Adirondack Pod.  Alyssa Bruno led the Vikings with five kills, while the team combined for a total of 18 kills. Skyler Kennedy posted a team-best 13 assists and Alyse Vogt led the match with six service aces. 

Onondaga 3, Hudson Valley 1

The Vikings dropped a tough match to Onondaga, as they nearly forced a deciding fifth match against the Lazers.Despite losing the first two sets of the match, the Vikings edged the Lazers for a 25-23 win in the third set. Hudson Valley nearly won again, but ultimately fell 25-22 in the fourth set. 

Leading the way for the Vikings was Veah Daigle-Vellon, who finished with seven kills. Bruno added six kills as the team combined for 21 total kills over the four-set match. Kennedy finished the match 

Jefferson 3, Hudson Valley 0

The Vikings closed out the Adirondack pod against the Region's top-ranked program, Jefferson. The Vikings nearly forced a fourth set but were defeated 25-22 in the third set. 

Jasyn Addison finished the match with a team-best four kills, Kennedy added seven assists and Adrianna Diaz-Rolon finished with a team-high 12 digs. 

Upcoming Schedule

The Vikings return to the court next Tuesday, October 11 when they travel to take on SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury, NY. The Match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
