The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball season started on Saturday afternoon as the Vikings traveled north to take on Paul Smith's College. The Vikings were defeated in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-6, 25-16). 

As a team, the Vikings combined for nine kills, seven assists and 15 digs during the three-set match. Alyssa Bruno led the Vikings with four kills, while Adriana Diaz-Rolon posted a team-best nine assists. Bruno and Regina Salazar-Ware each posted two solo blocks on the defensive end. 

Volleyball returns to the court on Tuesday, Sept. 6 when they host Ulster at 7 p.m. at the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. The match will be live streamed at hvccathletics.com/watch.
