Volleyball Wins, Defeats Mohawk Valley 3-1

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball team earned its first win of the 2021 season after they defeated Mohawk Valley 3-1 on the road in Utica, NY on Sunday afternoon. 

The Vikings combined for a season-high 29 kills, 23 assists and 19 service aces in the four-set victory over conference rival Mohawk Valley. 

Leading the way for Hudson Valley's offense was Alyse Vogtwho finished with a team-high 12 kills. Alyssa Bruno also finished with double digit kills as she finished with 10 and added a team-best seven blocks. Riley McGinn had a nice day as she led the Vikings with 21 assists. McGinn also added three kills and one service ace on the day. 

Upcoming Schedule

Up next for the volleyball team is a three-match home stand over the next two weeks. The Vikings are home this Wednesday, Sept. 22 when they welcome Adirondack to the McDonough Sports Complex for a 6 p.m. start.
