The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team hit the road for the 2024 season opener to kick off the NJCAA's inaugural spring semester season. The Vikings traveled south and were defeated 6-3 by host Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester in Sewell, NJ.

The Vikings earned singles wins from top-seed Keely Legnard, who defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Aubrie Murphy also won at the No. 3 singles flight, defeating her opponent in a tie-breaking match. She dropped her first set 6-2, but battled to win the second set 6-3 to force the extra frame, which Murphy won 10-3 to claim the match point.

The final point for the Vikings came from the No. 2 doubles team of Murphy and Zara Cole. Murphy and Cole earned a close 8-6 match over RCSJ's DeBlock and Steffens.

The women's tennis team returns to action again tomorrow, Sunday, April 14th when they take on Camden at 11 a.m. on the campus of RCSJ-Gloucester.
