The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team were defeated 7-2 by Castleton University, a four-year institution from the Little East Conference in Castleton, Vermont.
The Vikings earned match points at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles flights over the Spartans top student-athletes. Hudson Valley's Aubrie Murphy defeated Castleton's Regina Marchese in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Murphy and Zara Cole earned the Vikings second match point with an 8-6 win over M and Makayla Boisvert.
The Vikings return to the court next Thursday, October 13 when they host Herkimer at the tennis courts at the Outdoor Athletic Complex at Hudson Valley. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
