The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team earned a critical Region 3 win after they defeated Herkimer 4-3 on the road in Herkimer, NY on Monday afternoon. 

Both programs were playing short-handed, but the Vikings took home wins in the Singles No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 matches and then secured the match win with a victory at No. 1 Doubles. 

Hudson Valley's top-flight student, Aubrie Murphy handled her opponent well, securing the 8-1 set victory. Zara Cole had a tougher match, but ultimately pulled away with the set win, defeating her opponent 8-5. 

In the doubles, Murphy and Cole teamed up at No. 1 Doubles and took home the victory, 9-7, in a hard-fought match against Herkimer's top doubles team. 

Upcoming Schedule

The Vikings are back in action tomorrow as they travel to take on Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
