Women's Soccer Wins 3rd Straight; Foglia Extends Goals Streak

The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team have now won three straight games after they went on the road to defeat Fulton-Montgomery 2-1 at Gloversville High School on Saturday morning in Gloversville, NY.

The Vikings jumped out to a quick start as they scored within the first three minutes of the game when Sophia Belonga collected a pass from Abigayle Yetto for her second goal of the year and gave Hudson Valley the early advantage.

Minutes later, Hudson Valley's leading scorer, Lauren Foglia, extended her scoring streak as she has now scored at least one goal in eight straight games this season. Hudson Valley is 6-2 during the over the last eight games and are 7-2 overall when Foglia scores a goal.

In goal, Josephine O'Hare continued to play well as she allowed one goal in 90-minutes of game action. She accumulated seven saves in the process and now has 109 saves on the season and is boasting a 1.91 goals against average this season, which ranks 9th among Region 3 goalkeepers.

Up next for the women's soccer program is the final Region 3 match, a road game at Onondaga on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Syracuse, NY. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at Charles "Chuck" R. Wilbur Field.
