Foglia Scores in 6th Straight Games; Women's Soccer Wins 3-0

The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team earned a critical Region 3 win as they defeated Tompkins Cortland 3-0 in Dyrden, NY on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings jumped out to an early lead when Lauren Foglia and Abigayle Yetto teamed up for the give & go tactic, which ended with Yetto scoring the first goal of the game at the 11:11 mark in the first half.

Later in the half, Foglia continued her scoring as she extended her scoring streak with her sixth goal in six consecutive games. Foglia's goal gave the Vikings a 2-0 advantage as they went into the halftime break.

In the second half, Savannah Scarpa-Meade scored her first goal of the season as she collected an assist from Emma Spadaro for the score at the 61:55 mark in the game.

Keeper Josephine O'Hare eanred the shutout win and collected seven saves over the course of 90-minutes in the net.

Up next for the women's soccer program is senior day on Wednesday, October 11 as they welcome Adirondack to the Outdoor Athletic Complex. The match is set to begin at 5:15 p.m. with the senior day ceremony scheduled to begin immediately following the men's soccer game.
