The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team scored six unanswered goals in the second half to secure a dominant 6-0 shutout home win against Holyoke Community College on Wednesday evening at the Outdoor Athletic Complex.

The opening half end with a scoreless tie, but the Vikings found their stride shortly into the second half as Lauren Foglia collected a pass from Abigayle Yetto less than 10-minutes into the new half to score the team's first goal of the game. Later in the game, Foglia would set up goals for Emma Spadaro and Sophia Belonga to finish with a team-high four points.

Trinity Cutler-Mujjumbire scored the Vikings second goal of the game, which was assisted by Sage Grennon at the 61:39 mark. Trinity's goal set up a scoring spree by Hudson Valley as they went on to score two more goals in the next 10 minutes. Spadaro and Belonga each scored their first collegiate goals of their careers, both assisted by Foglia at 65:49 and 71:31, respectively.

Mia Manera also earned her first goal of her collegiate career as she controlled a pass from Macenzie Slattery for a goal at 78:07. A little over a minute later, Slattery found another newcomer, Alexa Krueger for her first collegiate goal at 79:36.

The women's soccer team is beginning to find their stride as a team, which resulted in four individuals scoring their first collegiate goals of their careers in tonight's win over Holyoke. The program looks to build upon the momentum on Sunday, Oct. 1 as they travel to Binghamton to take on SUNY Broome at 1 p.m.
