The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer was defeated 10-2 at home against the nation's top-ranked program, Mohawk Valley at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon in Troy, NY.
The Hawks jumped out to a big advantage, scoring the first nine goals of the game before the Maggie Ryan put the Vikings on the board with a breakaway goal on a cross to the corner of the net. Ryan's goal was her team-leading 15th goal of the season.
Later in the game, Marilyn Decker scored at the 87-minute mark on a breakaway and she put the shot to the lower right corner of the goal, just out of reach from Mohawk's keeper.
The Vikings are back in action on Wednesday, October 12 when they take on Adirondack at the Golden Goal Sports Complex. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
