The Hudson Valley women's soccer program was defeated 5-1 by Herkimer on Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. 

The Generals jumped out early on the Vikings with an early half score. At the 11:25 mark in the first half the Vikings had an attempt as the Generals keeper left the box, but the Generals defenders just got back in time to deflect the Vikings open shot at goal to keep the lead at 1-0 in favor of Herkimer. 

The Vikings jumped on the board at the six-minute mark in the game when Melissa Cole sent a shot to the back of the net for the score.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when they welcome Fulton-Montgomery to the Outdoor Athletic Complex for a Mountain Valley Conference match. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
