The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer program dropped a tough match 2-1 on the road against North Country on Wednesday afternoon in Saranac Lake, NY.
The game featured three, first-half goals with the Saints' freshman forward Kate Kavanagh connected on goals at the 21st and 30th minute in the game.
Minutes before halftime, the Vikings jumped on the board when Marilyn Decker converted on an assist by Melissa Cole for the score, cutting into the deficit with the entire second half remaining.
However, in the second half, the Vikings and Saints played the remaining 45-minutes of the game to a scoreless tie and the Vikings were narrowly defeated by the Saints 2-1.
The Vikings return home this Sunday, Sept. 25 for Homecoming Weekend as they welcome Herkimer College to the Outdoor Athletic Complex for a men's and women's doubleheader beginning with the men's game at 1 p.m. The women's game is set to begin around 3 p.m.
