Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer (11-3) earned a 1-0 win at home against a tough Genesee opponent and was awarded the No. 4 seed in the 2019 NJCAA Region 3 postseason tournament.

The Vikings appeared to have the Cougars defense on their heels for most of the first half, just missing on several scoring opportunities, but ultimately entered halftime with a scoreless tie.

Coming out of the break, the Vikings put the pressure back on Genesee as Brooke Clough scored 15 seconds into the half and put the Vikings up 1-0. Clough entered the game tied for a program record of 20 assists in a single season. Clough is tied with Stacy Call, who accomplished her 20-assist season in 1990.

Hudson Valley played a well-rounded team game as each member of the team played a pivotal role in securing the shutout victory. Vikings goalkeeper, Bailey Dunn recorded 11 saves for her seventh shutout win of the season and her 14th of her career. The win against Genesee is the first since Sept. 23, 2007, when Hudson Valley defeated the Cougars 5-0 at home.

The win helped the Vikings earn the No. 4 seed in next week's NJCAA Region 3 tournament and it has been determined the Vikings will host No. 5 Genesee again on Thursday, October 31 at 3 p.m.
