Women’s Bowling Placed Second at Regional Tournament

The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team participated in and placed second at the NJCAA Region 3 bowling tournament, hosted by Mohawk Valley in Utica, N.Y. on Sunday afternoon.

As a team, the Vikings tallied 7,991 total pins and finished with the region's best score in the tournament's Baker games with a score of 1,022.

Kyla Day (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) placed third in the overall All-Events standings with 1,657 pins. Day also placed first in the in the singles portion of the tournament as she finished with a score of 903, 85 pins ahead of Schenectady's Lauren Piotrowski (818 pin).

The duo of Gina Patricelli (Troy/Lansingburgh) and Shannon Bristol (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed third in the doubles portion of the tournament as they finished with a total doubles score of 1,392. Patricelli also placed sixth in the overall standings with a total score of 1,457. Bristol finished inside the top-15 as she placed 13th overall with a score of 1,348.

The women's bowling team will now prepare for the NJCAA National Bowling tournament on March 1 – 3, 2018.
