The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team participated in and won the Hawk Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Utica, N.Y.

As a team, the Vikings recorded a score of 7,920 pins in the six-team tournament. The team also posted a tournament best score of 1,068 in their six baker games as Hudson Valley won the singles, doubles and all events rounds.

Shannon Bristol (Troy/Lansingburgh) won the singles portion of the tournament with a total score of 730. Bristol also finished fourth in the doubles portion as she partnered with Gina Patricelli (Troy/Lansingburgh) and posted a score of 1,355.

The duo of Megan Gaige (Colonie/South Colonie) and Kyla Day (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) took home the win in the doubles portion of the tournament. Day and Gaige combined to score 1,526 pins, defeating the runner-up team by 95 pins.

Day won the overall all events title with a combined score of 1,517 and placed fifth in the singles portion with 697 pins.

The women's bowling team is back on the road this Friday and Saturday as they travel back to Mohawk Valley for a conference match on Jan. 26 and head south for the Westchester Shootout on Jan. 27.
