The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team participated in and placed second at the Blue and Orange Classic, hosted by Westchester County Community College on Saturday afternoon in Wappingers Falls.

As a team, the Vikings tallied 5,757 total pins in the six-team tournament. Hudson Valley scored 2,731 pins in their doubles series games, added 2,719 pins during their single series matches and scored 776 pins in five baker games.

The Vikings had all five of their student-athletes finish inside the top-20 of the tournament. Kyla Day (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) led the way with a high-game of 184 and a series-high of 527, the seventh best high-series of the tournament. Day finished strong as her high-game came in her final singles match of the tournament.

Megan Gaige (Colonie/South Colonie) started the tournament with a game-high 192 in the first singles match. Her game-high was the best single-game score among her Vikings' teammates. Gaige finished 10th overall with a series-high 520.

Rounding out the remaining Vikings, Shannon Bristol (Troy/Lansingburgh) and Gina Patricelli (Troy/Lansingburgh) finished in 16th and 17th place, respectively. Bristol rolled a series-high 480 with a game-high of 185 in her final singles round. Patricelli bowled a series-high 475 with a game-high of 180. Breanna Mysliwlec (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed 19th with a series-high of 458 and a game-high of 171.

The women's bowling team is back on the road this Sunday, Jan. 21 as they participate in the Hawk Invitational, hosted by Mohawk Valley.
