The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's bowling teams competed in two tournaments over the holiday break. The squads first competed in the Keystone Quaker Classic on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 27 and 28. The women finished ninth out of 21 colleges. Devan Hodlik led the way for Hudson Valley, averaging a 189 and finishing 19th out of 130 competitors. Nicole Sheldon finished with a 185 average and placed 23rd out of 130.
The men finished 32nd out of 45 colleges. Bill Pulver was the high bowler for the Vikings with a 202 average. He came in 31st out of a field of 190. Will Coons came in 77th with an average of 190.
The men and women then competed in the Nitanny Lion Kegler Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29 and 30. The men competed well in the tournament finishing 21st out of 48 colleges. John Pulver averaged a score of 191 and finished 52nd out of 300 bowlers. Alex Weglarz finished 85th with an average of 182.
The women came in 15 out of 21 colleges in the tournament. Hodlik led the way with a 14th place finish and an average of 190. Rebecca Duncan placed 53rd out of 127 bowlers and averages a score of 167.
